With Singapore's CBD and Chinatown at your doorstep, be it a business trip or a weekend staycation, you can count on a warm welcome with worthwhile experiences from one of the best 5-star hotels in Singapore.
Singapore was once little more than a stopover for many travelers, but now it has come into its own as a booming metropolis that does good business for vacations as well as holidays. This has led to many hotels having to refurbish, expand, and vary their services to accommodate a changing clientele. As in many others cities, boutique hotels with smaller, quirkily designed rooms have become more and more common over the past couple of decades.
The Parkroyal Collection Pickering is one of the most glamorous and unique luxury hotels in central Singapore, and includes 367 guest rooms that offer comfortable, luxurious accommodation. Floor to ceiling windows provide amazing views of Singapore particularly when the city is illuminated at night. An outstanding feature is the garden walk high above street level. Enjoy some time at the pool and sundeck where you can while away the afternoon before spending the evening in the nightclubs of Clarke Quays. Traveling to the Singapore cruise port at Harbourfront and Marina Bay cruise centre takes around ten minutes by car.
Sentosa, just south of the city, can be reached by cable car. This island boasts some fine sandy beaches, first class hotels and Universal Studios Singapore, a theme park where the magic of the movies come to life. Nature lovers will enjoy a hike or bike tour through the rainforest of the Bukit Timah and Central Catchment Nature Reserve.

The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts is an exceptional collection of iconic heritage and modern hotels in Singapore, Sydney and Hong Kong. Each unique hotel property encapsulates the legacy of its prime location and beautiful architecture whether it be in the heart of the city, at a stunning oceanfront locale or as an iconic historic National Monument.
We first visited Singapore in 2002, on our way back home to Norway from Australia where we studied, and we immediately fell in love with this city/ country. We try to visit Singapore every time we are in Asia, which means almost every year, and we have stayed in a lot of different hotels all over the city and at different price ranges.
Four Seasons HotelCurrently ranked as #2 of all hotels in Singapore (almost 400) on TripAdvisor, the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is one of the very best hotels in the city. It has everything that a top-notch five-star hotel should have; great service, excellent food (two restaurants and a lobby bar), beautiful rooms, a well-equipped gym, and a stunning and relaxing swimming pool area on the 20th rooftop floor. Plus they have an indoor and outdoor tennis court.
It is located right in the middle of everything at Orchard Road. So by staying at the Four Seasons Hotel, you will have a short walking distance to all the shopping, cinemas, cafes, and restaurants in the main shopping area of Singapore. From here you have easy access to taxi/ Grab cars and MRT/ trains so you can easily get around the rest of Singapore. By far one of the best and most luxurious hotels in Singapore.Click for latest prices
AMOY by Far East HospitalityRanked as number three on TripAdvisor after the posh luxury 5-star hotels the Fullerton Bay Hotel and the Four Seasons Hotel, this is excellent value for your money.
If you are looking for a special boutique hotel full of charm and a little different from ordinary hotels, then AMOY is it! AMOY has a very unique location, where you walk through a historical Chinese temple to get to the hotel. It has a super cool design; everything is inspired by old China like the custom-made opium beds.
One Farrer Hotel & SpaWe were taken by surprise when entering the One Farrer Hotel for check-in as we had not expected this kind of big, modern, comfortable and posh hotel in Little India! We loved this hotel from the moment we stepped into the lobby, and it is such an excellent value for your money as it is cheap compared to other 5-star hotels in Singapore. The service is also fantastic.

There you have it, a guide to all our favorite areas and hotels in Singapore. Singapore is an expensive city, both when it comes to accommodation, food, and transport, especially when compared to its neighboring Asian countries, but worth it as it is a great city with lots of things to see and do!

I too enjoyed reading this info Maria as we have just decided to have a mini-break on the way home from a wedding in Thailand. If I choose one of your hotels, I will definitely use the link on your site. Keep smiling
In Bugis & Kampong Glam Area, we loved the elegant and classy hotel InterContinental Singapore, and the modern and cool boutique hotel Naumi. Both of these hotels have a swimming pool, which I think is a must in Singapore.
We love staying in Bugis & Kampong Glam. Here you will find many excellent hotels which are a good value. 25 min is by the MRT to Orchard Station, but that is for shopping at the high-end shopping malls. You will most likely more often head to the Marina Bay area (for the Gardens by the Bay, which your 12-year-old will love!), and the historic area. The historic area is not that far from Bugis & Kampong Glam. Also, it depends on where your hotel is in Bugis & Kampong Glam. From for instance, Hotel G, which is located in Bugis, it is only a 5-min walk to National Museum and the historic area, and only a 20-min walk to Orchard Road and the shopping.
One of the world's most famous hotels also has one of the most famous and spectacular rooftops. Perched on top of the three large towers, standing at about 200 meters above sea level, you'll be able to enjoy vertiginous views of the ocean and the city's skyline.
Featuring a restaurant, a 24-hour fitness center, a swimming pool, and green walls, the Naumi is perfect for guests that like to stay away from the chain hotels and prefer the exclusivity of boutiques.
No two cities are alike; Why should our hotels be From New York City to Sanya, China, each property is designed to give guests a curated taste of the locale, reflecting the best of cultural and social miliieu. The result is a refreshing collection of individualized hotels (the anti-hotel chain), representing a new generation of luxury.
Ho says his Banyan Tree is on track to grow its portfolio to 100 hotels and resorts by 2025, almost doubling what it owned and managed just a year ago. In 2022, the company added 8 hotels across China, Indonesia, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Thailand, bringing its portfolio of properties to 65 in total across 17 countries.
The range of accommodation in Singapore is quite impressive. At the top end, the Marina Bay Sands is the triple-towered, 2,561-room resort that dominates the Singapore skyline. With its colonial heritage, Singapore also offers a fine choice of boutique hotels and villas, some located in restored, highly-sought after black-and-white colonial garrisons from the 1920s or heritage shophouses, which are unique to Singapore. Amongst all Singapore hotels, the business hotel is one of the most popular. Being the global financial powerhouse that it is, Singapore does a fine job in accommodating business travellers with well-located, affordable, business-oriented hotels. Serviced apartments, 2- and 3-star hotels as well as clean and tidy hostels are also readily available in Singapore.
